Markets

  • Porter Estate Produce Market – every Saturday from 9.00 a.m. till 1 p.m., but is weather permitting. A new addition to the Constantia Valley area brings you a unique outdoor market where locals can shop for fantastic fresh produce, savour on a farm-style breakfast, and best of all – activities for the little people.
  • Earth Fair Market Tokai – Open every Saturday 9.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. and open every Wednesday 3.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m. All stallholders are hand-picked and sell quality products. There is nothing at the Earth Fair market that isn’t worth more than a cursory glance. This isn’t a market that brings you everything and anything. This is local food at its best. No-one here is even slightly dodgy, and the aim is that here you will easily be able to stock up on the week’s food – fruit, vegetables (organic and local), free range and organic meat, local and organic cheese, bread and biscuits, sustainable fish, local and organic beer – and sit and enjoy a meal whilst you’re at it. And people love it.
  • Constantia Craft Market – This Market is held on the Alphen Common opposite the Constantia Village Shopping Centre on Constantia Main Road. This market is held on the third Saturday of every month.
  • Constantia Waldorf Night Market – 5-9 p.m., last Friday of each month, except public and school holidays. You can choose anything to eat from the stalls – pasta dishes, spit braai lamb, lamb pitta breads, Thai food, pastries and cakes, samosas, organic juices, hot dogs, popcorn, curries, lamb stews and so on. You can also browse craft and clothing stands inside the hall.

Speciality shopping

  • Alphen Farm Stall – The Alphen Farm Stall combines corner café convenience, supermarket prices and up-market, deli products. There are freshly baked breads of all kinds, cheeses from around the world, quality fruit and vegetables and ingredients for every imaginable dish. The Alphen Kitchen range of home-cooked dishes includes soups, pestos, pastas, salads and other goodies. And to complement your meal is a wide variety of fine wines.
  • Ferndale Nurseries – Ferndale Nurseries have been the nursery “behind all of the gardens” in the Constantia Valley for 65 years, providing the backing for a green and beautiful valley.
  • Pierre Cronje – Since 1987 the Pierre Cronje Factory has made superior antique reproduction furniture and custom-made pieces in unlimited period styles, using finely selected furniture woods.
  • Riedel at Aroma – Specialist wine and liquor merchants, also selling Riedel crystal glassware.
  • Sea Weeds Boutique – Sea Weeds Boutique, situated in Constantia Village Shopping Centre in the leafy suburb of Constantia, Cape Town, has over the years become renowned for its exclusive and stylish array of imported swimwear to suit every woman’s individual needs.
  • Steenberg Village – Steenberg Village, the heart of the large residential area Tokai, which is situated on the foothills of the Constantiaberg. Tokai, built in the 1940’s, provides Steenberg with the historic, true Cape Dutch feeling.
